And only to deceive by Tasha Alexander is considered a mystery, but that is not why I liked it. It is historical fiction set in late Victorian England. The main character experiences considerable growth as the plot twists along at a moderate pace. I found the ending to be unpredictable and satisfying.
Catching fire by Suzanne Collins was an exciting, fast, and fun read. I enjoyed the political themes the author developed, but not the action in the arena. Once again, I enjoyed the character development not only of our main character, but also her supporting cast.
If you liked Tasha Alexander, you might also like Lauren Willig's Pink Carnation series or Carol Carr's India Black series. Both are historical fiction with a touch of mystery.
